I’ve been dieing to get a Geisha freecoaster but I just heard that KHE freecoasters are only compatible with smaller chains for “weight savings”… WTF! Is this true??? Please tell me im just having a nightmare!
This is un-true. I have a Geisha, and I run a regular KMZ chain. Half-link chains work just as well. KHE are renowned for weight-saving when they design their products, but the don’t limit their products to being compatible with certain chains, that’s for sure.
Just keep in mind, regular bmx chains will fit all Geisha hubs, so don’t go getting an obscure chain, specially brought in for you through some supplier. lol
Read the notes at the bottom of this parts desription, and it’ll point out the exact compatible chain size for the Geisha… http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?Pa… I’ve never heard of anyone buying anything other than a regular size chain, anyway. Well, the 2 regular size chains described on the link. Anything other than these are very uncommon, and I wouldnt know where to even find one. lol
A word of advice, though… Geisha hubs come with some slack pre-set into them, so you might wanna take it apart as soon as you get it and adjust the slack. The ‘How To’ on this is found here, on the KHE website… http://www.khebikes.com/cms/index.php?op…
