thesis about the geisha (need ideas UR)?
I want to write a thesis on stereotypes of geisha in Western culture. I decide what research topic is that many movies, books, advertisements, etc, that show a false image of the geisha. For example, some geisha books describe this job is related to prostitution. and now just start typing your content. Please tell me if you have any idea what to write in the content ^ ^ Thanks
Well, first I want to do is to choose 3-5 stereotypes about (what you choose depends on how long your paper must be), then the search for these stereotypes to decide true or not. Then Come with your thesis, which will probably be one of three things: – the geisha stereotypes are true and I'll tell you why. – These stereotypes on geishas are false and I will tell you why. – Some stereotypes are true geisha, but some are true or based on truth and I will say which are true and why. For example, you could discuss the idea that girls are sold into geisha houses. This may be true in the past but these days the Japanese families not used to sell their daughters for nothing and most of the girls who want to become a geisha is fighting with their parents for the opportunity. Then, start a paragraph (or a short series of paragraphs) by introducing stereotypes ("stereotype of geisha is …"). If an explanation more detailed account of the same stereotype is required ("Families used to sell their daughters into geisha houses as …") be explained. Then proceed explain why the stereotype is true or false. Then go to your stereotype. Ensure that support their thesis with this part of the job! If the thesis is that stereotypes to talk about is not true, I hope to see much evidence to refute the stereotypes, the conclusion should restate your thesis and a brief summary of your before closing arguments. Make sure your sources are good. Remember, "Memoirs of a Geisha" is not a real memory and is not an academic source, if I could get away with using as an example of something that supports the false stereotypes about geishas.

THE IDEA OF JAPAN: Western Images, Western Myths
What sort of images does the word ‘Japan’ bring to mind? At times this country, so remote from our own, so different in culture, has seemed like an aesthetic wonderland, at others an alien threat. Its inhabitants have been variously seen as models of courtesy, as sadistic monsters, as artists of everyday life, as inhuman insects. Across four and a half centuries, from the reports of Jesuit mis…
The Asian Mystique: Dragon Ladies, Geisha Girls, & Our Fantasies of the Exotic Orient
Few Westerners escape the images, expectations and misperceptions that lead us to see Asia as exotic, sensual, decadent, dangerous, and mysterious. Despite — and because of — centuries of East-West interaction, the stereotypes of Western literature, stage, and screen remain pervasive icons: the tea-pouring, submissive, sexually available geisha girl; the steely cold dragon lady dominatrix; as …
